Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Release date, price, included games, changes, platforms, more

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition has been officially announced by Rockstar Games and here's everything we currently know about it, including the release date, gameplay changes, graphics improvements, which games are included, and more.
After series of rumours and leaks, one of the worst-kept gaming secrets of this year has finally been officially confirmed - Rockstar Games is bringing a remastered trilogy of Grand Theft Auto games.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will see Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas getting the remastered treatment with a series of improvements, and most importantly, it will bring these classics to the modern systems, including the current-gen consoles: Xbox Series X and PS5.

Here's everything we currently know about Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition.

The release date for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition hasn't yet been officially confirmed, but Rockstar stated that the game is coming later this year.

Considering that there are less than three months left in this year, the game will probably be released in November or December of 2021.

Which GTA games are getting remastered?

As we've already mentioned, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy includes the first three 3D GTA games: Grand Theft Auto 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas. GTA 4 won't be included in this remastered collection.

How much will Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy cost?

The price of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy hasn't yet been announced, but we expect it to cost around 40 to 60 dollars.

One thing that should be noted is that all three original games will soon be removed from digital stores (in the coming weeks, as confirmed by Rockstar), so once they are gone you won't be able to buy the original version anymore, only the remastered trilogy.

GTA: The Trilogy platforms

Rockstar confirmed that the game will launch on PC (via the Rockstar Games Launcher), PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Rockstar is yet to share more details about all the changes coming in this remastered edition of old GTA games, but for now, we know that they will feature "across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements" for all three games.

What that exactly includes, we will have to wait a bit to find out.

While Rockstar hasn't shared any dates when can we expect to learn more about the trilogy, later this month, on 22nd October, the legendary Grand Theft Auto 3 is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and for that special occasion, Rockstar will probably have a big streaming session, where they will, among other things, reveal all the details about the remasted trilogy, including the release date, new features and improvements, price, and more.

For now, that's everything we know about Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, but we will update the article as soon as Rockstar is ready to share more details about the remastered collection.
