When does the story of The Contract take place?
Set years after the conclusion of the main game events, the online story follows Franklin Clinton who has carved out his path in Los Santos. Having founded a “celebrity solutions agency” that targets Vinewood’s elitists by helping them solve their “high society problems”.
To help launch his business, Franklin needs a business partner and a major celebrity client. Players will be coming on board as Franklin’s new business partner while an old acquaintance of Franklin’s, entrepreneur Lamar Davis, comes on board to help find a client for him in Los Santos.
Recording producer, DJ Pooh, gets in contact with Franklin about a potential client, legendary rapper and producer, Dr. Dre who needs Franklin’s help with locating his mobile device. The device has landed in the wrong hands which contains all his unreleased music and Dre needs Franklin’s agency to locate and retrieve it before it’s too late.
Will The Contract feature new music from Dr. Dre?
This expansion will feature legendary rapper and producer, Dr. Dre, who previously made a cameo appearance in GTA Online's Cayo Perico Heist last year. The appearance of Dr. Dre confirms a leak from rapper Snoop Dogg during an interview for the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast in October 2021.
Snoop Dogg, who has been a longtime collaborator and friend of Dr. Dre stated that the legendary rapper and producer has been in the studio “making great f**king music”. Snippets of a collaboration titled “ETA” between Dre and Snoop as well as rapper Busta Rhymes and Anderson Paak was featured in the trailer for The Contract.
The Contract update will include a catalogue of “new and unreleased exclusive tracks” featuring some of the industry’s best musicians. The expansion will also include a new radio station with a line-up of “exciting special guest hosts” alongside new radio updates in-game.
