Famous Twitch streamer Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa recently had an interview with YouTube Gaming streamer Ludwig Ahgren and discussed a menu of topics. The discussion included the question of why she hasn't hopped on the "TV show meta," which iconic streamers like Felix "xQc" Lengyel and Imane "Pokimane" Anys have popularised for ages. However, during the interview, Amouranth also inadvertently revealed a shocking detail about her streaming contracts with Twitch.
Amouranth says Twitch TV show meta is too risky
During a YouTube live stream with Ludwig on 6th January, Amouranth was asked why she hasn't jumped on the "TV show meta" trends by mastering MasterChef while playing her on-stream character.
Amouranth then responded, saying, "You see, I feel like while people who have contracts with Twitch and stuff, or are favoured heavily by Twitch, might be able to get away with that, I feel like it's too risky for me to do it."
Of course, the "risk" Amouranth was referring to was the DMCA copyright debacle. Perplexed by Amouranth's response, Ludwig then asked if she had a contract with Twitch, to which Amouranth said, "No."
The related segment begins at the 18:30 timestamp.
The revelation that Amouranth does not have an exclusive streaming contract with Twitch was arguably most surprising, given that most prominent influencers on the platforms have one.
The Playboy Centerfold star followed her answer, saying, "If [Twitch does not] treat me right, they are going to lose me." In the past, Amouranth was banned several times for her ASMR mic licking and hot tub streaming stints, which saw her walk on thin ice.
Therefore, it is unsurprising that Amouranth has instead chosen to play by Twitch's rules and safeguard her revenue stream, despite the Amazon-owned streaming service not yet hammering down on other streamers reacting to copyrighted content.
