xQc slams Twitch Boost feature: "it's a disaster"
Explaining how the Boost feature would work, xQc said: "It's almost like a hype train and everybody can help give the rocket ship more fuel by paying real-life money and after some amount of time, the boost gets them more viewers."
The Twitch star continued to say that he thought it was "the worst idea" he's ever seen in his life. "Quite possibly the dumbest sh*t I have ever had the displeasure of putting my eyes on," xQc said.
"I honestly think that this hurts the website a lot more than it boosts anyone. It's kind of worrying because it's going to hurt the whole ecosystem," xQc said. xQc further explained why he felt this way and referenced what viewers want the most; which is organic content.
"So what people want to watch is things that are organic, things that people make and people want to watch. It's like an ecosystem," he said.
The Twitch star continued to add: "The problem with this is that if a lot of people start doing it and it buries organic content with manufactured dog sh*t. The problem with that is users will leave the platform and won't come back."
He continued to explain his reasoning, where he said: "The reason why that is, is that they're experiencing less content that they want to consume because of how far down the content that they would normally watch is [buried] by garbage."
xQc makes a good point and believes that this is not necessarily just a "cash grab" but rather just a "dumb f***ing idea" that should never even have made it this far down the product chain. xQc concluded his rant by saying: "I don't want to be rude but whoever had this idea, I don't know how they didn't get laughed out of the room. This is a disaster. End of story."
