Originally scheduled for January 2021, the remake of the 2003 classic was pushed back by two months to 18th March in December last year. Now, Ubisoft has delayed the title indefinitely with no new release date.
In an announcement post on Twitter, Ubisoft wrote: “We have made the decision to shift the release for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to a later date.

“This extra development time will enable our teams to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.”
The remake was unveiled in September last year, although many fans were concerned by the underwhelming visuals shown in the announce trailer.
It’s unclear whether this extended development title will go towards improving the visuals, although the hesitant response likely contributed to the decision.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was released back in 2003, and spawned two sequels in Warrior Within and The Two Thrones.
The franchise however has largely laid dormant since 2010’s Forgotten Sands, with Assassin’s Creed becoming a spiritual successor to the franchise.
