Wild Rift Pantheon guide: Best runes, items, spells, tips and tricks, more

Formerly known as Atreus, this champion fights the divine with an unrelenting will that fuels the weapons of the fallen Aspect on the battlefield.

The new 2.1b update has arrived in League of Legends: Wild Rift, and with this, Riot has announced new changes including balance changes to some champions, items, and most importantly, new additions to the roster.

This time, new champions from Mount Targon have arrived at Wild Rift, seeking to impose their ideals against all those who dare to block their way to divinity.

The third champion added to the roster is an unrivalled combatant, who fights with all his power without succumbing to anything thanks to his great will and resilience, allowing to finish with any opponent and end any war in seconds: Pantheon, the Unbreakable Spear.

Pantheon's active and passive abilities

His passive ability, Mortal Will, permite que después de hacer varios hechizos o ataques, el siguiente hechizo de Pantheon quedará potenciado.

Let's move on to his active skills:

  • Comet Spear: Pantheon will either strike his spear forward or throw it in the chosen direction.
  • Shield Vault: Pantheon will dash towards a target by hitting it with his shield, dealing damage and instantly stunning it.
  • Aegis Assault: Pantheon will prepare his shield, making him invulnerable to damage from the front and repeatedly attacking with his spear.
  • Ultimate - Grand Starfall: Pantheon will prepare and then leap through the air to land at the chosen location like a comet, dealing damage to all enemies in the landing area.

Best Runes and Spells for Pantheon

Pantheon is known for being a somewhat annoying champion, since when facing him head-on he can use his abilities to counter any enemy attack, giving him many windows of opportunity to come out with a victory.

  • Conqueror: Grants a cumulative damage bonus when dealing damage to enemy champions.
  • Triumph: Champion takedowns restore 10% of missing health. Allows you to deal an additional 3% damage to enemies below 35% health.
  • Spirit Walker: Grants bonus health and increased slow resistance.
  • Hunter - Genius: Grants additional ability haste for each unique takedown.

Pantheon is a very flexible champion in the metagame, being played in any of the lanes. However, his summoner spells will be the same, as his offensive abilities are useful in any situation.

  • Flash: Allows you to have more offensive options to enter combat, in addition to serving as an escape tool.
  • Ignite: Use it as a tool to finish off enemies in case they want to escape with low health.

Moving on to his items, these will be focused on increasing his offensive abilities, in addition to giving him more resilience and durability within each confrontation, allowing your team to kill all enemy champions without resistance.

  • Black Cleaver: Grants bonus attack speed, magic damage, ability power, and ability haste.
  • Sterak's Gage: Grants additional health and a passive shield, when his health drops too low.
  • Death’s Dance: Grants life, damage, physical vampirism, and its Cauterize passive converts a portion of the damage taken into delayed damage, giving you more room to fight multiple champions.
  • Youmuu's Ghostblade: Grants bonus attack damage, cooldown reduction, and armour penetration. Its passive allows you to deal additional magic damage with each attack.

As for the boots, you will pick between the Ninja Tabi and Mercury's Treads, depending on the damage focus of the enemy team, along with Stasis Enchant. To finish, you can choose between Guardian Angel, Duskblade of Draktharr, and Mortal Reminder, all of those as good options to complement his power.

Released in 2010, and with a massive rework in 2019, this warrior is more than known within the competitive for his high selection rate, in addition to always standing out in many compositions for his flexibility and usefulness within the game.

At first, his Comet Spear can become a problem for any enemy, due to its big range, its amount of scalable damage and its short cooldown, allowing him to harass the enemies gradually with it throughout the game.

His way of engaging any confrontation with his Shield Vault, and of preventing large amounts of damage in addition to wasting resources of his opponents with his Aegis Assault, makes Pantheon have several aces up his sleeve in matters of sieges, ambushes, or simply to annoy the enemy.

His most effective tool to unbalance any confrontation is undoubtedly his Grand Starfall, which allows him to break through any and help any of your allies in distress in case they are overwhelmed by the enemy attack.

However, you must learn to use it at the right time and place, since a poor decision on where to land can end up with you being left badly, surrounded by your enemies and finally, giving away a kill.

Pantheon's resistance and power make him one of the most prominent champions in League of Legends, where he can be used as a top laner, mid laner, and even as a support. So if you want to learn how to play these three roles without wasting a lot, Pantheon is a very good option for you.
